I
'm a bit obsessed with these vintage jars. I got the smaller one - the one filled with wooden clothespins (another obsession) from my father-in-law's village house. The jars were quite popular in the past - they were covered with woven wicker for easy carrying and were used as pickling jars, so basically almost every village home had a few. My grandmother said all hers were broken - such a waste. So I send my mom on a quest - asking around for old dirty jars (for some reason older people think they are useless, since they don't have appropriate caps). And after pestering a colleague at work for a while, he finaly brought her this big fellow from his village. I was so happy, I said "Mom, now you know what to give me for birthdays and Christmases!" or at least until I find another obsession. And I'm also proud to say that I'm getting their old popularity back, because I saw my godfather using one to prepare his delicious pickled cucumbers. I hope that when they're done, I'll get my hands on his jar...

I share this obsession of jars with you. I have collected quite a few of them in the past year. I even ordered wooden clips on Etsy the other day :)
